Growing Together in Millfield

Our Growing Together in Millfield project is bringing local people together to grow, learn and care for the environment at St Mark’s Church, in the heart of Millfield.

With the support of volunteers and learners, we’ve been improving our communal grounds, developing our growing and allotment spaces and tidying the external areas to create a more welcoming environment for local residents.

Our programme of free, practical workshops explores growing throughout the year, including windowsill planting, composting, propagation, bulb planting, natural fertilisers and growing from scraps. We’re also helping to protect local wildlife through activities including bug hotels, bird feeders and making bird feed.

The project is open to adults, children and families, particularly people without access to their own garden and those experiencing loneliness or poor mental health.

A huge thank you to National Lottery players and The National Lottery Community Fund Awards for All for making this project possible.
